Eva's Harrrods bill

Eva Longoria was shocked when London department store Harrods sent her a bill for clothes and accessories she took home after opening their January sale.

The ‘Desperate Housewives’ actress had been under the impression she could have the $19,000 worth of designer goods from the world famous shop for free.

A source said: “Eva was paid $100,000 for her personal appearance at Harrods, and after she’d opened the sale she went round the store and did a lot of shopping for herself.

“But she was stunned when she was sent the bill. She thought she was allowed to have what she wanted for free as an extra thank you for turning up.”

Although she was surprised to receive the bill, Eva paid it in full rather than cause a dispute with the store - which is owned by Mohammed Al Fayed.

Sylvester Stallone made a triumphant return to Leicester Square this evening at the UK Premiere of Rocky Balboa, the final chapter of the Rocky anthology. In a scene reminiscent of when his character 'Rocky' enters the ring in his movies, Stallone was greeted by crowds chanting 'Rocky, Rocky, Rocky...' accompanied by the signature theme tune as he arrived on the red carpet.

'Good Night, and Good Luck' marks George Clooney's second film as director, it chronicles the real-life conflict between television newsman Edward R Murrow and Senator Joseph P. McCarthy. Clooney flew into the UK last night for 16 hours to attend the screening at the Odeon, which was chosen as the closing film of this years London Film Festival. Clooney and the movies leading lady Patricia Clarkson walked down the red carpet signing autographs for their fans.

We sort of expect film festivals to open with a bang - you know, the red carpet, celebs, glitter and shimmer and oh, yes, a film. This year, The Times bfi London Film Festival opened with the Gala screening of Fernando Meirelles' political thriller The Constant Gardener.

What can I say, first the heavens opened shortly after Rachel Weisz arrived, but being the true star that she is Rachel did not let a little rain upstage her, good on you Rachel you won the hearts of many admirers tonight. Fernando Meirelles did the press, then went in to the screening - this upset a lot of his loyal fans who had been waiting outside from the early hours of the morning to catch a glimpse of the man himself, or even better an autograph.

Ralph Fiennes plane was late from the US, which resulted in him almost missing the screening of his own movie, he arrived 45 mins late, with the car speeding up the red carpret and skidding just outside the enterance, I think a few of the photographers needed a change of pant's after that little stunt.

Just got back from the HMV signing, it was not as busy as I had expected. All I can say it that it was a missed opportunity by HMV to gererate extra sales, they had the creator of Buffy - the Vampire Slayer instore, yet they had no point of sales promotional materials on display. It was not clearly marked where you had to go, people were wondering around looking for the queue. Still a good turn out, I would guess between 150 - 200 people in total - including those who went around twice (don't think we did not notice you!).

From Jabberwocky to Time Bandits, Brazil to 12 Monkeys, The Fisher King to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Terry Gilliam has made some of cinema's most fantastically imaginative, intellectually stimulating and visually distinctive films. He spent some of his early career in New York as a writer and illustrator working with comic book legend Harvey Kurtzman on his magazine Help! before moving to the UK in the mid-60s. Gilliam had met John Cleese during his time at Help! and through him ventured into television, a move that led to his involvement in Monty Python's Flying Circus for which he created the programme's iconic animation sequences. It was through Python that Gilliam gained movie experience. In 1975 he co-directed Monty Python and the Holy Grail with Terry Jones and in 1977 made his first outing as director on a non-Python project, the medieval fantasy Jabberwocky. Famously uncompromising in his approach to film-making he has often had to struggle to realise his vision, an aspect of his career aptly illustrated in the documentary, Lost in La Mancha, which followed the ill-fated production of his long-cherished project The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. His latest film The Brothers Grimm, included in the Festival, is a dark and magical imagining, focussing on the adventures of the fairytale scribes. Michael Keaton was without co-star Lindsay Lohan at the Premiere of the Disney film 'Herbie: Fully Loaded' at the Vue Cinema, Leicester Square. Lohan who plays Maggie Peyton in the new Disney movie - cancelled all engagements late last night and jetted back to the US, to be with her mother for the start of her parents' divorce proceedings.
